Adjunctive metabolic therapy sometimes used in septic shock (hydrocortisone + ascorbic acid + thiamine). Evidence is debated – follow local policy and give alongside, not instead of, standard sepsis care.
- Hydrocortisone 50 mg/m²/day IV in 4 divided doses.
- Ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 30 mg/kg/dose IV every 6 h for 4 days (max 1500 mg/dose).
- Thiamine 4 mg/kg/day IV once daily for 4 days (max 200 mg/dose).
