When to giveEndemic areas. Live-attenuated (SA 14-14-2): Dose 1 at 9 mo, Dose 2 at 16–18 mo.
DoseLive SA 14-14-2: 0.5 mL SC, 5.4 log PFU. Inactivated Vero-cell (JEEV): 3 µg (1–3 yr) / 6 µg (3–18 yr), 0.5 mL IM. Inactivated Kolar strain: 5 µg / 0.5 mL IM, 2 doses.

Schedule / intervalLive: 2 doses (9 mo & 16–18 mo). Inactivated: 2 doses 4 wk apart.

Catch-up schedule

Given in endemic districts after campaign; complete per product schedule.

Adverse events (AEFI)

Mild local reaction; fever, headache. >90% seroconversion.

Special considerations

Only recommended in endemic regions or for travellers to endemic areas. Store 2–8°C. Live vaccine avoided in immunodeficiency.
