Haemophilus influenzae type b · IAP / NIS

When to givePrimary at 6, 10, 14 wk; Booster at 15–18 mo.
Dose0.5 mL. Hib PRP (conjugate) 10 µg, conjugated to tetanus toxoid.

Catch-up schedule

Number of doses depends on age at start; not needed routinely after 5 years in healthy children.

Adverse events (AEFI)

Mild local reactions; low-grade fever. Serious AEFI rare.

Usually as combinations — Quadrovax, COMVAC-4, EasyFour-TT (DTwP-Hib); Pentavac, Easyfive-TT, COMBE Five, COMVAC-5 (penta)

Special considerations

Almost always given as part of pentavalent (DTwP-HepB-Hib) vaccine. Store 2–8°C, do not freeze.
